We first saw the Perlfeh in December 2007 at the RV stock show in Cambrigde. Derek Medlock pointed us into the direction of Ann Davies who first set us up with the breed. But the breed is so rare in the UK, we started to look to Germany to add to the bloodline.

You can count with your two hands the number of German breeders of beige Netherland dwarfs. At national shows there are only a small number of exhibits and to see them at a local show is down to pure luck.

87th ARBA Convention

The 87th ARBA Convention was held in Minnesota, USA from 07th to 11th November 2010. The Convention is biggest event show in the US. The results, pictures and a video here.

Melvin Thomas, Rex in Castor and Broken Castor

As part of our trip to Texas we visited a number of rabbit fanciers. One of them was Melvin Thomas – a renowned Rex man. Alongside his Ermine, Melvin also keeps Castor, broken Castor and Red. The Castors are similar in colour to our darker Castor.

First breed-specific European show

The first breed-specific European show for Netherland Dwarfs, Polish and Miniature English/Broken. A total of 1364 exhibits were entered, from the Netherlands, from Germany, Belgium, UK, the Czech Republic and Sweden.

Bob Whitman, Beaumont/Texas

During our travels through the United States in 2008 we visited Bob Whitman in Beaumont, Texas. This meeting made a great impression on us – for various reasons.


As I was saying, to breed the perfect pole some people put two rabbits together, cross their fingers and hope for the best. That works for some but not for me.
